In the hills outside of Luang Prabang, the former royal capitol of Laos, in the north of the country, 1974. This was on a walking tour organized by some industrious young Laotians in Luang Prabang. Since I have no way of reconstructing the location of the village, I’ve given the coordinates of Luang Prabang. 19.8894, 102.1408
And, by the way, the Smith Point GCBO watch tower has feeders for migrating humming birds.
Pitangus sulphuratus. Native to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas to Northern Mexico and also in Belize, the Great Kiskadee is a flycatcher. Found at the National Butterfly Center, Mission, Texas.
Great-tailed? Boat-tailed? Hard for me to tell. Riverstone Wetlands, Sugar Land, Texas.
